Council's Mapping System: We have moved from Intramaps to our new Geographical Information System (GIS) AlpineMaps (Esri). Access to the old GIS system Intramaps will be turned off in January 2025 and the data stored within Intramaps will not been maintained.

Fire, Flood & Emergencies

The Alpine Shire is susceptible to floods, storms, fires, heatwaves, and other disasters.

Disasters don't plan ahead. You can.

On the following pages, you'll find all the information you need to prepare for floods, storms, fires, and heatwaves, what to do when an emergency occurs, and how to access support following an unexpected event.

Building a safer and more resilient community is a shared responsibility across everyone living in the Alpine Shire. We work with government, agencies, and our community to minimise the impact of emergencies on residents and visitors.

Further information on shared responsibility can be located in the State Emergency Management Plan (SEMP). Our Municipal Emergency Management Plan complements and supports the SEMP by providing local knowledge and expertise, as well as outlining capacity and responsibilities.
