Strategic planning is the research and formulation of policies or strategies to implement goals and objectives relating to particular land uses or areas.
Strategic planning also involves monitoring and evaluating the implications of the provisions on land use and development.
This includes strategies that include Land Use, Heritage, Neighbourhood Character, Significant Landscapes, to name a few. Below reflects previous, current and future strategic planning work.

The Planning Scheme Review has highlighted priority areas that require community input which in coordination with outcomes of the Land Development Strategy will reflect a 5–10-year Strategic work program.
