Council's Mapping System: We have moved from Intramaps to our new Geographical Information System (GIS) AlpineMaps (Esri). Access to the old GIS system Intramaps will be turned off in January 2025 and the data stored within Intramaps will not been maintained.

With three centrally located centres in Mount Beauty, Bright, and Myrtleford, our team provides local knowledge, resources, and tailored recommendations to enhance your stay, whether you’re exploring the outdoors, uncovering local heritage, or sampling regional delicacies.

Each of our Visitor Information Centres offers friendly service, maps, brochures, and travel tips tailored to the Alpine Shire.

Alpine Visitor Information Centre - Bright

  • Location: 119 Gavan Street, Bright VIC
  • Offerings: The Bright VIC is set in the heart of Alpine Shire’s bustling tourism hub. Our team here provides insights into local wineries, gourmet dining, art galleries, and the famous Ovens River. With information on nearby hiking trails, cycling routes, and adventure tours, we’re here to help make your Bright experience unforgettable.

    • Monday – Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
    • Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Mount Beauty Visitor Information Centre

  • Location: 31 Bogong High Plains Road, Mount Beauty VIC
  • Offerings: Our Mount Beauty VIC is your starting point for exploring the incredible Bogong High Plains and Kiewa Valley. We offer trail maps, recommendations for cycling, hiking, and fishing spots, and guides for scenic drives. Pick up permits, book local tours, or find out about seasonal events.

    • Monday – Friday: 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
    • Saturday – Sunday: 9:30 am – 4:00 pm

Myrtleford Visitor Information Centre

  • Location: 43 O’Donnell Avenue, Myrtleford VIC
  • Offerings: Nestled among vineyards and farmlands, the Myrtleford VIC highlights the area’s rich agricultural history. Stop by for self-guided heritage trails, local markets, and seasonal festivals. Our centre can guide you to farm gate experiences, local produce markets, and heritage sites around the Alpine region.
