Together with the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Alpine Shire Council invites residents of Wandiligong to attend emergency planning sessions to support preparedness initiatives for the community.
Wandiligong is identified as a community at high risk of bushfire and ember attack. When residents are prepared for these risks, it can help the community to stay safe during times of disaster.
Council and the CFA are seeking to work together with the community to ensure that they are prepared for disasters, including bushfires.
Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, encouraged residents of Wandiligong to attend.
"While we may know our properties best, we are not the experts on disasters," she said.
"By working together with Council and the CFA, we can ensure that we are working together as a community to keep ourselves and our properties as safe as possible during times of heightened risk."
Residents of Wandiligong are invited to fill out a short survey to determine when and how they would like to be involved in the emergency planning sessions.
