Adjusting the number of toilets at an event:

Duration of Event Percentage of the table values (using the table above)
More than 8 hours 100%
6 - 8 hours 80%
4 - 6 hours 75%
Less than 4 hours 70%

How to use the above tables: E.g. 12,500 tickets have been sold for a concert. The duration of the concert will be five (5) hours with alcohol being made available to patrons over the age of 18. Event organisers need to ascertain how many toilets will be required. Using the tables above, the following numbers can be identified:

Male Facilities:

WCs URINAL METRES URINALS HAND BASINS
14 x 75% = 11 WCs  19.5 x 75% = 15m 39 x 75% = 29 urinals 11 x 75% = 8 hand basins

Female Facilities:

WCs HAND BASINS
65 x 75% = 49 WCs  13 x 75% = 10 hand basins

NOTE: For events with no alcohol reduce the above numbers by 50%.
