The General Election for Alpine Shire Council was held on Saturday, 26 October 2024.
The General Election was conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) via postal vote. For more information about voting, visit the VEC’s website for the Alpine Shire Council elections.
The VEC website will be regularly updated as the phases of the election cycle progress.
Election Period
The Election Period commenced at 12 noon on Tuesday, 17 September 2024 and ran through to 6pm on Saturday, 26 October 2024 (Election Day).

The Election Period (also referred to in other levels of government as the Caretaker Period) imposes restrictions and certain prohibitions on Council decisions, information that can be published, community engagement, and events that can be run in the lead up to the election.
Once the Election Period commences, you may have noticed a banner on this website to alert users that Council communications might be operating slightly differently than usual.
