Howitt Park Playground in Bright has reopened following remedial works to ensure it remains a safe and welcoming space for the community to enjoy.

The works included:

  • Structural improvements
  • New timber walkways
  • Oiling and painting
  • Brand-new slides (with one slide still to be installed)
  • Pressure washing
  • Fresh mulch

Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, thanked the community for their patience while the upgrades were completed.

“We’re so pleased to reopen Howitt Park Playground and welcome families back just in time for Christmas and the summer school holidays,” she said.

“We understand the temporary closure was an inconvenience, and we truly appreciate the community’s understanding as we worked to bring the playground up to standard.”

The Mayor acknowledged the importance of maintaining this well-loved space for the community.

“These works were necessary to ensure the playground remains a safe, enjoyable, and long-lasting space for everyone.

"We’re delighted that families can now come back and enjoy the improvements."
