Council's Mapping System: We have moved from Intramaps to our new Geographical Information System (GIS) AlpineMaps (Esri). Access to the old GIS system Intramaps will be turned off in January 2025 and the data stored within Intramaps will not been maintained.

Data was collected between July 2023 to December 2023 and highlighted the impact of the FOGO on kerbside waste in the Alpine Shire.

During this period, 816 tonnes of general waste was diverted from red bins as a direct result of individuals and households using the FOGO service.

This has saved 1,034.1 cubic metres of space in landfill and reduced CO2 emissions by 265.74 tonnes.

Alpine Shire Council Mayor, Cr John Forsyth, said that these successes are a reflection of the community working together to make a difference.

"The FOGO service is one way that residents, ratepayers, and holidaymakers across the Alpine Shire can do their part to reduce their environmental impact," he said.

"We are proud to see people in our communities taking these essential steps towards a more sustainable future for themselves and their loved ones."

Data collection is conducted by our kerbside collection contractor, Cleanaway.
