Alpine Shire Council is one of six regional Victorian councils supporting people to make informed decisions when upgrading to rooftop solar systems and storage batteries, quality hot water heat pumps, and reverse cycle heating and cooling systems.
As a member of the Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance, Council is participating in the Goulburn Murray Solar Savers program, a program that helps community members navigate renewable energy options for their homes and businesses.
The program combines a fully vetted installer, endorsed product list, as well as available rebates and answers to frequently asked questions.
The current accredited provider was vetted through a public tender process by the established metropolitan Solar Savers program, which has already benefited residents of 19 metropolitan councils.
Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, said that the Goulburn Murray Solar Savers program is an important and valuable initiative to support community members with their upgrades to energy saving technologies.
"We know that not everybody has the time and resources to find the products and installers that are most effective for them and their homes," she said.
"By supporting this program, we can move towards our climate goals while helping people save on their energy bills."
Suppliers and installers are invited to tender to be involved in the Goulburn Murray Solar Savers program by visiting https://app.eprocure.com.au/maroondah/home/public. The closing date for submissions is 12 midday on Wednesday, 15 January 2025.
Participants in the Goulburn Murray Solar Savers program are Alpine Shire Council, Indigo Shire Council, Mitchell Shire Council, Murrindindi Shire Council, Strathbogie Shire Council, and Greater Shepparton City Council.
