Alpine Shire Council along with the Alpine Community Recovery Committee are holding the Redi Expo! to run alongside the Myrtleford Show on October 22.

The Redi Expo! is an interactive experience with prizes, showbags, music, and magic that asks community ahead of the next emergency: Are You Ready?

Alpine Shire Mayor Sarah Nicholas said the expo will bring agencies together with community to encourage information sharing and highlight the need for individuals and communities to get ready for the next emergency event.

“The Redi Expo is part of educating our community about how to prepare for emergencies such as floods and fires,” she said.

“What to think of and what plans to put in place.

“We live in a beautiful part of the country, but we also know that we live with threats from fast changing natural events.

“Being ready in the face of an emergency provides the best option for personal safety and protection of property.

“Emergency and support agencies will be part of the Expo to connect with community members, answer questions and offer support.”

Young people are encouraged to join a scavenger hunt that tests their knowledge and builds their confidence when planning for the next emergency.

With show bags for kids, face painting, balloon animals, silent disco and an entertaining MC, the Redi Expo! combines fun, magic and important information about emergency readiness.

The Redi Expo! is on its way to the Myrtleford Show on Saturday 22 October 2022.
