Council has identified potential risks with the tree and, as a precautionary measure, has closed the playground to ensure the safety of all children and families who use the facility.

An arborist will be on-site on Monday to conduct a thorough inspection of the elm tree. Based on the findings, Council will determine the necessary steps to address any issues and ensure the tree poses no further risk to the community.

"We understand that this temporary closure may cause some inconvenience, but the safety of the children using the playground is our top priority," said Council Chief Executive Officer, Will Jeremy.

"We appreciate everyone's understanding and patience as we work to resolve this matter."

Council will provide updates on the situation as soon as more information becomes available.
