Community members are invited to a memorable day of live music, market stalls, and family-friendly activities at the Resilience & Redi Fair in March.
The Resilience & Redi Fair, hosted by Alpine Shire Council with support from Victorian and Australian Governments, acknowledges the physical and psychological impact of disasters on both individuals and communities.
The Fair will provide an opportunity for people across the region to come together and enjoy an afternoon of connection, information, and practical support.
With a line-up of local artists including Tahlia Brain, Vikki Dornam, and Benny Williams, attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with and speak to representatives from emergency services and government agencies responsible for recovery and resilience in the Hume region.
There will also be opportunities for children to learn about science with Fizzics Education, get their face painted with Indigo Face Painting, and enjoy lawn games throughout the afternoon.
Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, acknowledged the ongoing impact of recent disasters on the health and wellbeing of community members across our region.
"While the impacts of disasters may be felt most acutely at the time, they can still take a toll months, or even years, afterwards," she said.
"The Resilience & Redi Fair gives people a chance to come together and learn about how to prepare both physically and psychologically, all while enjoying an afternoon in the company of good music and quality company."
The Resilience & Redi Fair will be held on Saturday, 22 March at Howitt Park in Bright.
