Inspiring community members will be celebrated on January 26, with winners of the annual Alpine Shire Community Awards to be announced at Australia Day events around the Shire.
Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, said the awards recognise the exceptional contributions and achievements of individuals, groups and events that make a positive impact on their local area.
"Every year, these awards shine a light on the extraordinary people who make our communities stronger, more vibrant, and connected," she said.
"Their dedication is an inspiration to us all and their contributions truly embody the spirit of the Alpine Shire."
The annual Australia Day Community Events are scheduled to take place in five locations across the Shire.
All events are free to attend and everyone is welcome. Please bring your own chairs and picnic rugs to all events, excluding Mudgegonga. You are invited to enjoy breakfast or morning tea with a gold coin donation.

The first citizenship ceremony for the year will be held on Tuesday, 28 January 2025, in line with our practice of hosting ceremonies quarterly, prior to scheduled Council meetings.
This approach ensures the attendance of all Councillors and allows the ceremony to take place in a single, central location, providing a streamlined and inclusive experience for all participants.
