Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, said the awards recognise the exceptional contributions and achievements of individuals, groups and events that make a positive impact on their local area.

"Every year, these awards shine a light on the extraordinary people who make our communities stronger, more vibrant, and connected," she said.

"Their dedication is an inspiration to us all and their contributions truly embody the spirit of the Alpine Shire."

The annual Australia Day Community Events are scheduled to take place in five locations across the Shire.

All events are free to attend and everyone is welcome. Please bring your own chairs and picnic rugs to all events, excluding Mudgegonga. You are invited to enjoy breakfast or morning tea with a gold coin donation.
