This six-week period is an important time for ensuring fairness and transparency throughout the election process.

Council's Manager Corporate, Tony Cooper, explained that during the Election Period, Council will continue to provide essential services to the community; however, Council’s decision-making and communication activities will be limited to avoid influencing the election outcome.

"During the Election Period, we will be focussing on delivering essential services and making sure that our communications remain impartial," he said.

"We won’t be posting or sharing content that could impact the election, and our decision-making will be limited to necessary matters only.”

Council services and support will remain available, but the community is encouraged to understand the changes in public messaging and decision-making during this period.

The Election Period will end at 6pm on Saturday, 26 October, following the conclusion of the election.

“We’re here to help with any essential services or information you need,” Mr Cooper said.

“Our goal is to ensure that the election process is fair, transparent, and reflective of the community’s best interests.”
