To celebrate Children’s Week, Alpine Shire Council is hosting free events for children and their families that will engage the senses, capture the imagination, and encourage creative expression.

Alpine Shire Mayor Sarah Nicholas said performances by The Vegetable Plot band will be held at libraries across the Alpine Shire during Children’s Week.

“This year’s Children’s Week theme is ‘Children have the right to a standard of living that supports their wellbeing and healthy development’,” she said.

“These fun, bright performances by The Vegetable Plot band promote healthy eating and overall wellbeing.

“We’re excited to be welcoming groups of children from our local primary schools and kindergartens to these sessions.

“There are also spots available for any children who may not be at kindergarten or in school on those days.”

Children’s Week celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood, showcasing children’s achievements while providing educational experiences for them and their families.

These events join more than 140 free Children’s Week events supported by the Victorian Department of Education and Training.
