Our Unsealed Roads team are seeking a multi skilled machine operator looking for a career full of opportunities! This is an opportunity for an individual who enjoys working outdoors and who would like to apply their sound, relevant civil expertise to this permanent fulltime 9-day fortnight role. How you’ll make a difference

As part of a team, you will assist with the efficient delivery of the construction, maintenance, and operation of public assets throughout the Shire. 

Council’s Operations team delivers civil works including: 

  • Unsealed road maintenance and repairs
  • Grading works and road drainage maintenance
  • Sealed road construction, repairs, and sealing
  • Roadside vegetation maintenance 
  • Bridge maintenance and repairs

Our ideal candidate

In addition to your relevant industry experience, you will have an enthusiastic personality who can work within a team to achieve great outcomes. You will also have good communication skills, excellent customer service skills and the ability to use technology such as iPads and email in the course of your work.

  •  Driver licence
  •  Heavy Rigid truck licence
  •  Accredited Competency Certificates for operating earthmoving machinery
  •  Heavy Combination licence (Desirable)
  • Traffic Control Management
  • CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in construction industry 
  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

  • Salary based on Band 3 classification, from $32.76 per hour + Industry Allowance + Superannuation
  • Fortnightly Rostered Day Off
