How you'll make a difference

As Manger Engineering and Maintenance, you will lead proud, customer-focused, and highly efficient engineering and maintenance teams, responsible for the delivery of general and development engineering services and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure, including roads, bridges, pathways, buildings, parks, trees, and gardens. Your role will be pivotal in managing innovative and efficient engineering services, operations management for infrastructure and open space maintenance across the Shire.

Your positive and constructive leadership will support a vibrant safety culture where everyone has the right tools, training, and safe systems of work to perform their roles efficiently and safely. Your technical experience and knowledge of reactive and proactive maintenance and development principles will ensure that all assets throughout the Shire are maintained to standards that meet the demands of use and the expectations of the community.

Our ideal candidate:

To excel in this role, you will have strong experience in engineering practices or maintenance operations, with demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role managing multidisciplinary teams and a sound understanding of the legislative framework. You should have a proven ability to manage change, build strong teams, and develop effective strategies. Your high level of financial literacy, combined with your sound judgment, will allow you to understand and prioritize competing demands and focus on what’s important.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential
  • a commitment to continuous improvement and strategic thinking
  • a tertiary qualification in a relevant field with extensive industry experience 
  • a current Victorian Driver Licence is essential.
