How you’ll make a difference

You will use your diverse administration skills to assist our Statutory Planning Team by undertaking a variety of administration tasks and providing exceptional customer service. You will be required to promote the Alpine Shire as a customer-focused organisation. You will need to be passionate and multi-skilled and be able to consistently deliver operational services in a timely, friendly and organised manner.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for

  • Providing first point of contact customer service by responding to telephone and electronic customer enquiries and providing an in-person counter enquiry service for the Statutory Planning Team
  • Providing professional and timely support to the Statutory Planning Team by assisting with the lodgement and processing of planning applications and requests, record keeping, and stakeholder meetings
  • Working with the Statutory Planning Team to implement new technology and equipment to improve the efficiency and productivity of the planning and subdivision service.

With your excellent administration and communication skills, you will be able to work with your colleagues and our community to ensure positive customer service outcomes. You can work independently, multi-task, prioritise to meet deadlines and use a range of software to deliver positive, quality, and timely customer service and communications with stakeholders.

You will have

  • Demonstrated experience and technical skills in administration, record keeping, and customer service
  • Experience in the use of computer-based and records management systems (Microsoft, GIS, databases)
  • Good communication skills, including stakeholder engagement and an interest in developing conflict resolution skills
  • An interest in process and software improvements
  • Experience in local government desirable but not essential.
