Alpine Shire Event Funding Program

Applications for the 2019/2020 Event Funding Program are now open.

The Event Funding Program is an annual process which takes place between May and August. All event organisers are encouraged to apply for funding for their event.

Applications are now open. If you have an event taking place in the Alpine Shire between July 1 2019 and June 30 2020, please follow the link below to access Guidelines and the Application Form.

Please note that this is a competitive process and submitting an application does not guarantee success.

In-kind (logistics) support offered by Council to event organisers includes the following services:
- Waste management.
- Change of traffic conditions advertising.
- Local Laws representation and traffic management supervision at large scale events.
- Variable message board placement (where change to road conditions are applicable throughout the event).
- Online event listings and other promotions including township branded flags for display at the event.
- General support and advice with the development and delivery of events.

Any Council resources not mentioned above will NOT be available for use by event organisers. If you have previously used Council resources (including but not limited to items such as crowd control barriers, bollards, star pickets, barrier tape and signage) please ensure you allow for purchase or hire of these items in your budget for 2019/2020.

Please be reminded that without a funding agreement in place, there will be no financial assistance or in-kind support available and any services required from Council will incur a fee. Please contact the Events Team to discuss your event and determine any potential costs.

2019/2020 Event Funding Program: Application form and Guidelines

Applications close at 5pm on Friday 21 June 2019. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Please contact the Events Team on events@alpineshire.vic.gov.au or 03 5755 0555 for further information.

Organising a festival or event

Have you ever considered organising a festival or event in the beautiful Alpine Shire? We welcome all new event ideas, regardless of size or genre. We have various resources available to assist you with planning your event, some are available to download below. Contact the Alpine Shire Council to discuss your ideas further with the Event Development Officers.

Already planning your event? Contact the Events team to discuss your event via the Event Enquiry Form, find a suitable date on the calendar, then follow the one-step process below to apply for a permit for your event with the Alpine Shire Council:

> Event Enquiry Form
> Event Calendar
> Event Permit Application form

All events held in the Alpine Shire should register with Council at least 3 months before the event. The Event Permit Application form is the only form you need to complete now.

For assistance with completing the Event Permit Application form and identifying other organisations you may need to contact or permits you may need to obtain, please consult the Event Permit Application guidelines or alternatively, contact the Events team.

PLEASE NOTE:
In response to the exponential increase in the number of events held within the Alpine Shire and limitations on resources, Council have reviewed the level of resource support that it can provide to Events. As a result, there will be changes to the services offered.

Effective from 1 July 2018, Council will be reducing logistical (or in-kind) services provided to events. These changes are detailed below.

Council will no longer provide the following services to event organisers:
- Traffic management plan development.
- Implementation of traffic management plan (provision of required signage and personnel).
- Processing of VicRoads permit and/or Memorandum of Authority applications.
- Resource loans (barriers, bollards etc.).
- Completion of Council permit applications (POPE, Works in Road Reserve etc.) and processing of Council facility hire fees.

Council will continue to provide the following services to event organisers:
- Waste management.
- Change of traffic conditions advertising.
- Variable message board placement (where change to road conditions are applicable throughout the event).
- Online event listings and other promotions.
- General support and advice with the development and delivery of events.

Please be reminded that without a funding agreement in place, there will be no financial assistance or in-kind support available and any services required from Council will incur a fee. Please contact the Events Team to discuss your event and determine any potential costs.

Please contact the Events Team on events@alpineshire.vic.gov.au or 03 5755 0555 for further information.

Post Event Evaluation and Acquittal

Please complete the Post Event Evaluation and Event Acquittal form no more than 30 days after the completion of your event. A post event evaluation assists event organisers to assess the delivery of the event objectives and determine the success of the event. The information collected also helps the Events Team compile statistics for events in the region and analyse the most effective use of funds.

All events supported by the Event Funding Program are required to complete these forms.
