The analysis will assess existing tracks and trails to address gaps, identify opportunities for improvement and help safeguard the environment while understanding the need for additional tracks and trails.
This includes a specific emphasis on assessing the current network for considerations such as durability, accessibility, trail styles, management and maintenance structures, and environmental impact, while accommodating the growing demand for mountain biking experiences.
Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr John Forsyth, emphasised the importance of community feedback as a way to understand the gaps present in the existing tracks and trails network.
"The people that know these tracks and trails best are those that use them," he said.
"This is an opportunity for walkers, runners, cyclists and mountain bikers to provide targeted feedback to help Council manage these valuable assets for long-term enjoyment."
Users are encouraged to have their say via Engage Alpine, Council's online engagement platform.
There are three different survey options available, asking users about their general experiences, as well as targeted feedback about specific tracks and trails. Users are also invited to suggest new tracks and trails to fit into the existing network.
