Alpine Better Places draft design plans on exhibition

Public invited to have their say on Alpine Better Places

Community members are being invited to view the Alpine Better Places Draft Detailed Concept Designs.

The Draft Detailed Concept Designs for Myrtleford, Bright and Porepunkah were approved by Council last week and will be on public exhibition for 28 days.

Council’s Director Assets Charlie Bird said local communities had played a big part in the design process.

“The Alpine Better Places project commenced in early 2015 and during that time we’ve held two community consultation sessions in each of the three towns,” he said.

“Community input was sought in March to prioritise projects in each of the townships and community feedback was requested on preliminary concept designs in June during our Day of Design workshops.”

Mr Bird said the consultations allowed community members from each township to create a vision for their towns.

“The Draft Detailed Concept Designs are now on public exhibition and I encourage residents to have a look at them, and if they want to make a submission to council they will need to do so by December 16,” Mr Bird said.

Copies of the Draft Detailed Concept Designs can be inspected at the Council office in Bright or at the Bright and Myrtleford
Libraries or they can be downloaded from www.alpineshire.vic.gov.au under ‘on exhibition and public meetings’.
