Mount Beauty Netball Court works underway

26 March 2015

Construction of the $130,000 new Mount Beauty Netball Court in the Recreation Reserve started last week.

North East Civil Construction is working to complete the project in readiness for the 2015 netball season.

Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Jan Vonarx said the new facility brings health and economic benefits to the community.

“The league said the Dederang Mount Beauty Netball Club would not be able to play games in Mount Beauty on the existing court so this new facility, complete with lights and shelters, means games will now be able to be played in town and visiting teams will contribute to the local economy while they are here,” Cr Vonarx said.

“We are delighted that the club is supporting the project with $10,000 of in-kind assistance and a financial contribution of $10,000.”

The project is funded with $70,000 from the Victorian State Government and $40,000 from the Alpine Shire Council.
