Bright Sports Centre reopens

THE Bright Sports Centre has reopened its doors to the public, following two months of renovations to its gym space.

Stage 2 of the facility’s revamp is complete, including renewed cardio and weights spaces, revamped spin room, new change rooms and toilets and a fresh new layout.

Alpine Shire Council Community Officer – Facilities and Engagement David Stokie said the $300,000 works have created a more welcoming and functional space for all centre users.

“Stage 1 was the renovation of the pool hall and installation of an up-to-date pool treatment system,” he said.

“Now, with Stage 2 complete the rest of the gym space and change rooms are in line with the modern, light-filled pool hall – the whole centre is now a lot more welcoming and user-friendly.”

An Open Day will be held from 9am – 1pm on Saturday, 13 December to allow residents and visitors to try what the facility offers for free.

“We will also be offering a deal on all memberships on the day – buy any membership and receive three months free,” Mr Stokie said.

“Entry to the pool and gym will be free and we will run some free classes so people can get an idea of what we offer.

“There will also be gift vouchers available for anyone who still needs to buy their Christmas gifts.

“A Christmas hamper door prize will be drawn and any kids who come along will go into the draw to win a free week of the holiday swimming program.”

The project has been funded by the State Government’s Local Government Infrastructure Program 2011 – 2015.
