Exit your business successfully

28 April 2014

ARE you an established business owner considering selling your businesses, retiring or looking to move on to a new challenge?

Alpine Shire Council is hosting an “Exiting Your Business Successfully” workshop in Mount Beauty on Wednesday, 28 May.

Manager Economic Development Clayton Neil said the workshop helped equip business owners with the skills to exit their business at the right time.

“This workshop gives business owners the tools to assess their business and evaluate a range of exit strategies, including succession, sale or transfer,” he said.

“Participants receive a free one-hour business mentoring session and targeted advice, a comprehensive work book and reference guide and support to make the right decisions when choosing when and how to exit their business.”

The workshop is a valuable resource for anyone wanting to learn about:

• The factors that influence business exit opportunities;
• When to start planning an exit strategy;
• Valuing your business;
• Options for selling your business; and
• How to identify potential successors.

The workshop is facilitated through the State Government’s Department of State Development, Business and Innovation and run by Managing Director of Mentors and Business Coaches International George Barrett.
