Represent your community on the Bright Pioneer Park Advisory Committee

3 February 2014

DO you make use of Bright’s Pioneer Park, and want to help Council understand what the community needs in a recreation facility?

Nominations are now being sought for two community representatives to be part of the Bright Pioneer Park Advisory Committee.

Alpine Shire Council Manager Communities Kathryn Maxwell said the role of the committee is to provide guidance and advice to Council on the management and operation of Pioneer Park.

“We value the input of our community members, and in the operation of facilities like Pioneer Park, a community voice is particularly important,” she said.

“A diverse range of user groups are already represented on the committee however representation from community members not associated with the current user groups would add value to this committee”.

“We welcome as broad a representation as possible to ensure user groups are heard and their needs factored into the management and enhancement of Bright Pioneer Park.”

The Advisory Committee is a ‘community voice’ for the management and operation of the reserve.

Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 5.30pm.

For more information and a nomination form contact Community Facilities Officer Fran Bentley on (03) 5755 0555.

Nominations close Friday, 14 February.
