Plenty of Easter fun on offer this weekend

THERE’S something for everyone in the Great Alpine Valleys this Easter long weekend.

With plenty of kid-friendly activities, delicious food and wine for the adults, events and the great outdoors to discover, the whole family will have fun this Easter.

Alpine Shire Council’s Events Officer Julieann Martin said there was a wide range of activities to suit every taste on offer this weekend.

“We have something for everyone – from Easter festivals to lawn tennis tournaments, live music, markets and great food and wine,” she said.

“There’s an event to suit those visitors who have come for the whole long weekend and for day-trippers too.”

The annual Myrtleford Lawn Tennis Tournament is on again, as is the Harrietville Historical Society Bush Market and Rotary Club of Bright Easter Saturday Market.

Shoppers will find a bargain at any one of the many markets and sales being held across the Alpine Shire, from Myrtleford’s “We Plant, We Grow, We Harvest” Cotters Market on Easter Saturday to the Mount Beauty Rotary Easter Sunday Monster Garage Sale.

Visitors are spoilt for choice for Easter-themed events, with the High Country Easter Festival at Dinner Plain and the Falls Creek Easter Festival both offering Easter egg hunts, kids’ activities and fabulous food.

Don't forget the legendary Omeo Rodeo on Easter Saturday and the Geebung Polo Match, held on Easter Sunday at Cobungra Station.
