Residents turning to solar power

THE Solar North East project is being well supported in the Alpine Shire, with more than 100 people attending recent information sessions in Bright, Myrtleford and Mount Beauty.

Solar North East is a cooperative program between Councils across the North East which aims to simplify the process of choosing a suitable solar energy system for homes or businesses.

Council’s Solar North East Ambassador, Claire Stock said of the attendees, around half signed up for a free home inspection and quote for solar panels.

“We’ve had a very positive response so far,” she said.

“There is a lot of competing information out at present so I encourage residents to contact Council for information on various systems available and on ways they can improve energy efficiency within their home or business.”

Alpine Shire Council has partnered with the Solar North East regional partner, ZEN Home Energy Systems, as well as our local installers, Bright and District Electrical, Cartwright Electrical and Hines Electrix in delivery solar solutions for our community.

Residents wanting to arrange a free home inspection and quote or who are seeking further information on Solar North East are encouraged to contact Claire Stock on 5755 0507 or emailing claires@alpineshire.vic.gov.au.
