Ireland Street road infrastructure works update

WORKS to Ireland Street, Bright, are progressing well with three quarters of the kerb removal and placement completed.

Manager Project Delivery John Carter said the works would result in safer and updated road infrastructure, including a pedestrian crossing point and healthy tree plantings.

“Japanese maple trees from the centre median are being removed due to age and poor condition,” he said.

“Advanced replacement trees will be planted this week.

“Asphalt works due to start next week will see some lane closures.”

Mr Carter said works remain on schedule to be completed by the end of February, before the March Labour Day long weekend.

“We’re grateful to all Ireland Street traders for their patience with road closures and pedestrian access limitations during this project,” he said.
