Community Grants

APPLICATIONS for the Alpine Shire Council Community Grants program have closed, and the assessment team is working to narrow down the entries.

The 8-person panel includes three Alpine Shire Youth Councillors, an Alpine Shire Councillor, Alpine Shire Council staff and community representatives.

Council’s Director Corporate and Community Trevor Britten said the panel was looking to fund projects that would have a direct benefit to the community.

“They also want to see the successful grants spread across the shire and to help support those groups which haven’t had much support in the past,” he said.

“Many groups are desperate for more support but often, unfortunately, Council has limited resources to assist.”

In total, 31 applications were received.

The results will be ratified by Councillors at the next General Meeting on Tuesday, 6 December.
