Bright teenager is Alpine Shire Citizen of the Year

The community members who nominated 17-year-old Bright resident Alanah Tesoriero describe her as an energetic, capable young woman who is responsible and hardworking with a very positive attitude.

On Australia Day, Alanah was named the Alpine Shire Citizen of the Year at the Australia Day celebration held in Bright.

Mayor Cr Nino Mautone said Miss Tesoriero is very involved in her school and local community.

“Alanah is a passionate young woman who cares for and is involved in her local community,” he said.

“We are encouraged by her enthusiasm and passion for our community, and wish her the very best in the future.

"It gives me great pleasure to present Miss Tesoriero with the Alpine Shire Citizen of the Year award, and the Bright and District Young Achiever of the Year.

“The Australia Day celebrations and presentation of awards is a great way to recognise those who add so much to our communities through their community service.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their time as this volunteerism enhances life in the Shire and adds to that sense of community.”
