Open day to showcase Bright Sports Centre

The Bright Sports Centre will throw open its doors on Saturday, 20 November offering free admission, gym classes and massage.

Gym memberships will also be up for grabs as well as a chance to test out the very latest in cardio machine technology.

The Bright Sports Centre Open Day will feature a range of activities including a free boxing class, free sample boot camp, free remedial massage, free aqua aerobics and fitness challenges with gym memberships as prizes.

Each person at the Bright Sports Centre Open Day will go in to the draw to win a one month gym membership.

A buy three months get one month free membership deal will also be on offer at the Open Day.

Manager Community Services Trevor Britten urged residents to take this opportunity to see what the Bright Sports Centre has to offer for free.

“Council has made a number of improvements to the Bright Sports Centre since taking ownership last year,” he said.

“This is a great opportunity for those thinking about joining to check out the range of activities on offer.

Zinah Stone and Paul Nixon will be showcasing their businesses, while there will also be fitness testing, fitness challenges and activities in the solar heated swimming pool.

“The Open Day is an ideal time to test out the five state-of-the-art cardio machines recently purchased by Council.

The cross trainer, rowing machine and three treadmills feature the very latest in technology, rivalling equipment available in bigger city recreation centres.

Council has also committed to continuing the trial of extended opening hours until 2011.”

The Bright Sports Centre’s opening hours are

Monday – Thursday: 7am – 1pm, 4pm to 8pm
Friday: 7am – 1pm, 3pm to 7pm
Saturday: 9am – 12pm
