Alpine Shire flood update

The following is an update regarding floods affecting the Alpine Shire.

Flood waters continue to affect numerous parts of the Alpine Shire. For full details please refer to the SES website www.ses.vic.gov.au

While the Great Alpine Road is closed between Ovens and Porepunkah, the township of Bright can still be reached via a detour through the towns of Yackandandah, Dederang and then the Tawonga Gap Road into Bright.

People that require support must register at the Centre.

North East Water has issued a boil water notice for Myrtleford and a precautionary boil water notice for Bright, Wandiligong and Porepunkah. For full details please visit www.newater.com.au

Myrtleford and the Wallace Drive area in the Buckland Valley have been the worst affected areas with a number of houses being inundated. At this early stage it is too early to estimate the total damage bill.
