MP to open Visitor Information Centre upgrade

State Regional and Rural Development Minister Jacinta Allan will officially open the upgrade to the Alpine Visitor Information Centre (VIC) in Bright this Wednesday, 25 August.

Ms Allan will be at the VIC from 1.30pm to 2.30pm to unveil the $140,000 upgrade, funded by a Regional Development Victoria grant ($109,000) and Council ($31,000). Alpine Shire Mayor Cr Nino Mautone will also be in attendance.

The upgrade includes

  • New digital advertising signage
  • Upgrade to phone systems
  • New projector
  • Improved design of centre including new workbenches and display cabinets

Meanwhile, the official launch of the Alpine Shire Hospitality Kit has been postponed. The launch was to be held on Thursday, 26 August at the Alpine Visitor Information Centre from 6pm.

As it is Hearing Awareness Week, finding an appropriate translator for the event has proved difficult.

The Alpine Shire Hospitality Kit is however, now available for free to accommodation operators.
