Business owners urged to have say on future of local economy

Council is encouraging all local business owners to have their say on the future of the local economy and help guide a new Economic Development strategy for the Alpine Shire.

A short survey will be sent out to over 1200 registered businesses in the Alpine Shire this week asking business owners to provide basic information about the current situation and future outlook of their business.

This information will then be used by the Economic Development team to develop a strategy that takes into account the needs of the industry and assists in effectively growing and supporting businesses in the Alpine Shire.

Economic Development and Tourism Coordinator Clayton Neil said he encouraged all businesses to respond to the survey.

“This is a great chance for local business owners to guide the future of our economy,” he said.

“We need to hear from as many businesses as possible so we can understand and respond to their needs.”

The survey will be sent out via email and business owners can also complete the survey online at www.alpineshire.vic.gov.au/businesssurvey.

Business owners have until 30 August to respond to the survey.
