New planning policy for Water Extraction and Bottling proposed - Seeking community comment

Alpine Shire, Indigo Shire and Towong Shire have prepared a new local policy for their planning schemes and are now seeking community comment.

This policy will apply to planning applications for the use and development of land for groundwater extraction and bottling.

It sets out how Council will manage amenity issues that may be associated with use and development of land for groundwater extraction and bottling and the surrounding road network.

This includes noise, dust, traffic impacts and visual impacts to surrounding residents and significant landscapes.

The draft policy and associated planning scheme amendment documents can be downloaded here from 23 November 2017

Please send any comments to Alpine Shire Planning and Amenity, PO Box 139, Bright Vic 3741 or via our online submissions form by 21 December 2017. You can speak to a planning officer about this by calling 03 5755 0555.

Submissions close 21 December 2017
