Alpine Events Park

The $3.74million Alpine Events Park, for outdoor events, will be built at Pioneer Park, Bright.

The Park will attract larger scale national and international events to the region.

Thirty-five jobs will be created during the three-year design and construction period.

The Park will create about 70 new jobs and $16.5 million in direct expenditure in the Alpine Shire every year.

It features:
• A $1.5 million upgrade to the existing club rooms building to create a multipurpose facility and events hub
• Construction of a tunnel underpass to connect the trail network to Pioneer Park
• Mountain Bike infrastructure including development of a hero trail and pump track.
• Upgrade of utilities including power, water, sewerage and communication,
• Landscaping and upgrading of internal roads.

The project was developed with, and will be delivered in conjunction with several partners:
• HVP Plantations
• Alpine Community Plantation
• United Bright Football and Netball Club and
• Alpine Cycling Club

The Alpine Events Park received $1.87 million in funding from the Australian government's National Stronger Regions Fund; Council and local partners will match this contribution.

Alpine Events Park – Site Master Plan

The Site master planning stage for the Alpine Events Park is now completed. The plan and artists impressions (below) are presented here for information purposes.

A 12-month process has been undertaken to develop this final site master plan. Input has been received from external event research, professional event managers and a community working group including 13 stakeholder groups who use Pioneer Park and surrounding forest areas.

The project is now progressing with detailed design and procurement. Construction of the first element, the Hero Trail, will commence in November within the Mystic Mountain Bike Park. On-site works within Pioneer Park are to commence in 2017 with completion in early 2019.
