Alpine Events Park

The $3.74million Alpine Events Park, for outdoor events, will be built at Pioneer Park, Bright. The Park will attract larger scale national and international events to the region. Thirty-five jobs will be created during the three-year design and construction period. The Park will create about 70 new jobs and $16.5 million in direct expenditure in the Alpine Shire every year.

Project Update - September 2017

Design for the new Multipurpose Facility at the Alpine Events Park, Bright

Construction of the new Alpine Events Park Multipurpose Facility located at the Bright Pioneer Park Recreational Reserve will begin before the end of September 2017. Councillors awarded the $1.82 million contract to building contractors Barton St. Developments at the monthly Council meeting held on Tuesday 5 September 2017.

The development will involve restoration of the heritage-protected grandstand, the demolition of the old pavilion, the expansion of the lower change rooms and a new upper level facility capable of hosting meetings and events.

Construction of the lower level change rooms is scheduled to be completed in time for Easter 2018 and available for use during the football season while works continue on the upper level.

Project Update - March 2017

Works to the civil construction stage of the Alpine Events Park Project will kick off in March.

North East Civil Construction (NECC) will begin work at Pioneer Park, Bright, from Tuesday, 14 March and depending on the wet season are expected to conclude by the end of June.

There will be much activity in the park over the next three months, including earth works machinery, fenced off areas and disruption to services and site access.

Council asks for your patience during these much-needed park improvements. In the interest of safety please avoid active work sites and follow the directions of NECC staff and signage.

Works include:
* Trenching and installation of underground services including stormwater, potable water, power, telecommunications and sewerage.
* Drainage improvements.
* Construction of a sealed carpark behind the grand stand with a capacity of 30+ vehicles.
* Sealed bike path connecting the tennis court end to the existing sealed round that runs around the football oval.
* Hard stand areas for events.
* Grass carpark with an estimated capacity of 350 passenger vehicles located next to the equestrian arena.
* New sealed road joining the football oval road past the equestrian arena, past the tennis courts and finally to Coronation Ave.

Alpine Events Park Project

This project features:
• A $1.5 million upgrade to the existing club rooms building to create a multipurpose facility and events hub
• Construction of a tunnel underpass to connect the trail network to Pioneer Park
• Mountain Bike infrastructure including development of a hero trail and pump track.
• Upgrade of utilities including power, water, sewerage and communication,
• Landscaping and upgrading of internal roads.

The project was developed with, and will be delivered in conjunction with several partners:
• HVP Plantations
• Alpine Community Plantation
• United Bright Football and Netball Club and
• Alpine Cycling Club

The Alpine Events Park received $1.87 million in funding from the Australian government's National Stronger Regions Fund; Council and local partners will match this contribution.

Alpine Events Park – Site Master Plan

The Site master planning stage for the Alpine Events Park is now completed. The plan and artists impressions (below) are presented here for information purposes.

Construction of the first element, the Hero Trail, within the Mystic Mountain Bike Park, was completed late-2016. On-site works within Pioneer Park are to commence in 2017 with completion in early 2019.
