Battle of the Bands and Skate Event a success

MORE than 100 participants, musicians and spectators turned out to Myrtleford’s Cundy Park on Saturday for The Rukkus – Alpine Battle of the Bands and Myrtleford Skate Event.

The competing musicians set a high standard, with winners AtMostFear set to move on to the Hume Region Battle of the Bands heat later in the year.

Soloist Indigo was awarded second place for her melodic performance of original songs and third placed band Slaughtermelon impressed spectators and judges alike.

Alpine Shire Council Youth Development Officer Ebony D’Arcy said the event, organised jointly between Indigo and Alpine shires, was a success.

“All of our performers and competitors were fantastic,” she said.

“The Alpine and Indigo FReeZA committees provided an essential helping hand and worked hard all day to make sure the event came together.”
